RAMSBOTTOM is a market town situated in the borough of Bury, it is located approximately 4 miles north of Bury Town Centre.

It began development as a mill town late in the 18th century at the height of the industrial revolution when Sir Robert Peel 1st Baronet, purchased land to build new textile mills. The name Ramsbottom is said to have derived from the old English words Ramm Botm, literally meaning Ram’s Valley.
