COLNE is a Lancashire market town that dates back to the 15th century, it is located in the borough of Pendle approximately 6 miles northeast of Burnley.
Colne’s most famous export is the legendary Hartleys Jam, it’s founder Sir William Pickles Hartley was a local grocer who suffered difficulty with jam suppliers for his business. This led him to make his own jam which sold 100 tons in the first year, and thus the great Hartley’s Jam Concern was born.
